Russell Joseph Taylor, age 47, of Isle, MN, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023.

Russell "Rustie" was born November 22, 1976, in St. Paul, MN the son of Barbara Taylor and Noe Martinez. He was united in marriage to Leesa on August 12, 2017. Rustie worked at Grand Casino in Mille Lacs for several years as a cook.

He is survived by his wife Leesa; sons Randy (Eileen) Solveij & Michael Williams; siblings Antonio (Tabby) Taylor, Marie (Kevin) Stobb, Adam (Dee Dee) Taylor, Jonathan (Clasha) Taylor, Roberto Martinez & Jeremy Martinez; nephews Kody, Aden & Ryder Taylor, along with many more nieces & nephews.

Rustie was preceded in death by his mother Barbara; grandmother Virginia Taylor; grandfathers Donald A. Taylor Sr. & Gonzalo Martinez; brother Bemuse Martinez; uncle Richard Taylor; cousins Joseph Taylor Sr., William St. John & Bradly Martinez.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2023, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in New Post. Father Karunakar Madanu officiated with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Burial was in New Post Cemetery. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20th at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.

Casket Bearers were Antonio Taylor, Adam Taylor, Jonathan Taylor, Kevin Stobb, Randy Solveij & Michael Williams.
