Obituary

Sandra A. Taylor, age 61, of Webster, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

Sandra Ann Taylor was born August 25, 1954 in Hayward, the daughter of Charles "Boy" and Zelda "Julia" (Cloud) Taylor. She attended Lakeview High School in Chicago and went on to attend Malcom X College and Truman College where she obtained her Associate Degree. Sandra became a certified iron worker and was a member of Local 63 in Chicago, where she worked various shows at McCormick Place. She became a certified CNA taking on private clients, she worked in this field until illness forced her to retire. Sandra was very involved in the Catholic Church, and was a member of the leadership circle at the Kateri Center in Chicago. She attended the Canonization of Kateri at the Vatican in Rome, Italy. Sandra was a caring and compassionate lady, who always put others before herself. She was a loving wife and mother and had a soft spot for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Darryl Ruwe; children Penny Nickence, Kristin Nickence, Sonya Taylor, Kevin Thayer, Holly Thayer; sisters Sharon Taylor, Carolyn Pintoran, Shelby (Tom) Tainter, Catherine Punjani; brothers Dennis Taylor Sr., Scott Taylor; and 16 grandchildren.

Sandra was preceded by her parents; daughter Rena Taylor; grandparents Henry & Nellie Cloud and Sophie & Charlie Taylor.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in New Post with Father Gregory Hopefl officiating. Music was provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Burial was in New Post Cemetery. Visitation began at 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 13 at New Post Senior Center.

Honorary bearers were Alan Abrams, Jerry "Dude" Barber, Al Miller, Clyde Miller Sr., Clyde Miller Jr., Marilyn Reyes, Steve Sutton and Patsy Taylor.

Casket bearers were Curtis Crone Jr., Keenan Crone-Taylor, Jordan Gurneau, Duane "DJ" Miller, Cody Nickence, and Thomas "Tommy" Tainter Jr.
