Sheri L. Hanes, age 60, of Ashland, WI, passed away peacefully Monday, February 6, 2017 at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Sheri Lynn Hanes was born December 26, 1956 in Shell Lake, WI, the daughter of Virginia and Gerrit Korthof Jr. She graduated from Hayward High School in 1975, then obtained her bachelor's degree in Social Work in 1999. Sheri was a case manager at Impact Counseling where she enjoyed counseling and working with youth. She loved rock music, reading – especially on her Kindles, shopping, watching sports, but most of all her family.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Steven; children Jamie Joe Corbine Sr. and Melissa Spero; grandchildren Tiera, Marley, Jamie Joe Jr. and Peyton; great granddaughter Nyla Rose; sisters Pamela "Patti" Jarvis and Dianne Ince; brother Gerrit "John" Korthof.

Sheri was preceded in death by her parents Virginia and Gerrit Jr. and an infant son.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward with Rev. Gary Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will be in Earl Cemetery in Earl, WI at a later date. Visitation was held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Monday, at the funeral home.

Honorary casket bearers were Brandt Lee, Amanda Harris, Jaymie Hammer, Reedon Jarvis and Gerrit "John" Korthof.
