Shirley A. Isham, age 76, of LCO, passed away peacefully at her home in K-Town, Thursday, December 1, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Shirley Ann Isham was born December 11, 1939 in Hayward, the daughter of Leo and Irene (Corbine) Isham. Her and her four siblings were raised in Reserve and attended school at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission. The family moved to Manitowoc, WI, where Shirley attended St. Mary's School. Later they moved back to the Hayward area where she finished her schooling at Hayward High School. Throughout Shirley's adult life she worked various jobs in Minneapolis, MN, Hayward & LCO including resorts, motels and lastly for the LCO Tribal Office from 1981 – 2010 until she retired, working as a file clerk, mailroom clerk and was maintenance supervisor until retiring. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she loved being busy and cleaning. When she could, she loved playing bingo and visiting many casinos. Shirley was a member of the St. Francis Solanus Church.
She is survived by her daughters Roxanne Isham, Mary Jo Isham; son Curtis (Kelli) Isham; sister Geneva Isham, Mary Rose Tainter both of LCO; brother Leo Isham; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 12 nephews & nieces.
Shirley was preceded by her parents; daughter Corrine "Reenie" Isham; brother Leo Isham; sister Joyce Meyer; granddaughter Christina Dennis; great great grandson Jordan Hackley Jr; nephew Roy Isham.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission in Reserve with Father Gregory Hopefl officiating. Music was provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation was held beginning at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 6 at Pineview Funeral Service.
Honorary Casket Bearers were Carol Colten, Connie Corbine, Donnie Corbine, Duane Corbine, Elaine Corbine, Gayle Corbine, Marvin Corbine, Selma Corbine, Carlena Dennis, Jackie Froemel, Margie Miller, Mimi Miller, Thomas "TJ" Isham, Phillip Slayton and Carol Wilson.
Casket bearers were Louie Corbine, Rusty Corbine, Tom Corbine, Cory Cross, Dave Dennis, Jim Dennis, Rick Denomie, Justin Gordon, David Isham and Doug Wolfe.
