Shirley A. McPeak, age 46, of Hayward, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Shirley was born November 2, 1965 in Hayward, the daughter of Calvin and Avis (Roberts) McPeak. She graduated from Hayward High School and lived in Hayward all her life. Shirley worked various jobs around the area including Dixie Manor, Pizza Plus, Auto Stop, Hayward Veterans Center and Round Lake Pit Stop. She also spent many years as caregiver and babysitter for several families around our community. Shirley enjoyed participating in pool and dart leagues, cribbage and scorekeeping for Men's Softball League and Cruz Inn Bean Bag Toss. She was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary and continued to support them through their bake sales and other functions.

She is survived by her sister Donna (Keith) Emery; brothers David (Jane) McPeak, Russell (Kathy) McPeak, Ronald McPeak all of Hayward; seven nieces & nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews, one great great nephew; numerous cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and brother Vernon McPeak.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at 10:00 a.m. - Noon on Friday, May 18 at Hayward Veterans Center, with a time of sharing at 11:30 a.m. There will be a luncheon to follow.
