Theodore A. DeMarr, age 74, of New Post, died Monday, September 11, 2017 at his home.

Theodore Archie DeMarr was born July 7, 1943 in Hayward, WI, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Homesky) DeMarr. He grew up in Blueberry Lake and attended school in New Post and Hayward. Ted moved to Clinton, IA in 1964 where he worked on a farm for several years, then began working as a roofer. Ted moved back and forth between New Post and Clinton until 2000 when he moved back to New Post permanently.

He is survived by his sons Tom Bates, Tony DeMarr, Raymond McClurg; daughter Julia Hill; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; brother Alex DeMarr, Oliver DeMarr; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Ted was preceded by his parents; son Jim Bates; brothers Alfred DeMarr, Raymond DeMarr Jr., Jerome DeMarr; sister Beatrice O'Shogay.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Father Gregory Hopefl officiating. Music will be provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Burial will be in New Post Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 13 ^th at Pineview Funeral Service in Hayward.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Joe DeMarr, Oliver DeMarr, Alan Miller, Dave O'Shogay, Gary Tainter Sr. and Gary Tainter Jr.
