William R. Jensen, 88, of Hayward, WI, died Saturday, January 2, 2021.

William Russel was born November 10, 1932 in Joliet, IL, the son of Cal and Sarah (Meskimen) Jensen. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and after his discharged he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Carole Eastman in Nevada, IA on March 3, 1956. Will played football for Iowa State University and graduated in 1957. He earned his graduate degree from Northeast Missouri State University. Will spent his career in education working for the Bettendorf Community School District as a teacher, football coach, and administrator. He and Carole retired in 1996 to their cabin, that Will built with his Dad, in Hayward, WI. Will loved living on the lake, fishing with his grandsons, and enjoyed watching the wildlife. He will be greatly missed by his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie (Jim) Hansen; daughter in law, Carol Jensen; grandsons, Andy (Emily Soener) Jensen, Will Hansen, John (Lydia) Hansen; and nephew Cal (Deb) Jensen.

Will was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carole; and his son Bill.

Private family services will be held.
