Yvonne Bernadine Ray, age 91 of Hayward, WI, died Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Hayward,

Wisconsin.

Yvonne was born on May 20, 1935, in Hayward, WI the daughter of Robert Gouge’ and Hazel (Battees) Gouge’. Yvonne was the oldest girl of twelve. She always loved being around people especially kids and babies. If you had the chance to meet her, you knew she was someone special. Her parents moved all over, Montana, California, just to name a couple and ended up in Chicago, Illinois with her husband Walter Ray Sr. They had 8 children she loved and adored each one in her own special way. Yvonne worked for Beltone Electronics for 28 years as an assembler where she retired and just loved retirement while always finding herself helping someone. Yvonne loved to sing in the choir and lived a very eventful life and always tried to make the best of everything. She has touched so many hearts and will be missed by all she has come across.

Yvonne is survived by her daughters: Judy Ray, Mary (Ray) Schroeder, Lisa Ray, Kathy (Ray) Madden; sons: Jerry Ray and Tom Ray, sisters; Patricia Miller, Joann Dale, Wanda Brady and Ruth Gervais: brother: Dennis Gouge’. Several nieces and nephews; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband; Walter Ray sr.: parents; Robert and Hazel (Battees) Gouge’, daughter; Joyce Kamai, son; Walter Jr., sister; Lucille Lutsch: brothers; Robert Gouge’, Lyle Gouge’, Johnny Gouge’, Clifford Gouge’, and Alfred Gouge Sr.’.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission, Reserve WI. Thursday, September 3, 2026 @11:00 am and Father Karun will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 3rd until time of Service.
